Instructions for Different Types of Drug Screen Testing Procedure
Instructions for Different Types of Drug Screen Testing Procedure

DIP STRIP TYPE URINE DRUG TEST

MATERIALS REQUIRED BUT NOT PROVIDED 1. Clock or timer. 2. Specimen collection containers.

Allow the test kit device and the urine specimen, to come to room temperature (15°-28°C) prior to starting the test procedure.

1. Bring the foil test pouch to room temperature before opening it.

2. Remove the test device from the sealed foil pouch and use it as soon as possible.

3. Remove the protective cover from the end of the test device. With arrows pointing toward the urine specimen, immerse the exposed strip(s) of the test kit device vertically into the urine specimen for at least 10-15 seconds.

4. Immerse the test device strips to at least the level of the wavy lines on the strip(s), but not above the arrow(s) on the test card.

5. Do not allow the urine level to touch the plastic device

6. Place the test kit card on a non-absorbent flat surface, start the timer (not included) and wait for the purple line(s) to appear.

7. The results should be read at approximately 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 10 minutes.

8. To avoid confusion, discard the test device after interpreting the result.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
1. For in vitro diagnostic and professional use only.
2. Do not use the test device beyond the expiration date.
3. Urine specimens may be infectious; properly handle and dispose of all used reaction devices in a biohazard container.
4. Visually inspect the foil package to insure it is intact. If the package is not intact, the integrity of the device might be compromised.

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

Negative:* Two lines appear. One red line should be in the control region (C), and another apparent red or pink line adjacent should be in the test region (T). This negative result indicates that the drug concentration is below the detectable level.

* NOTE: The shade of red in the test line region (T) will vary, but it should be considered negative whenever there is even a faint pink line.

POSITIVE: One red line appears in the control region (C), No line appears in the test region (T), and this positive result indicates that the drug concentration is above the detectable level.

INVALID: Control line falls to appear; insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques are the most likely reasons for control line failure. Review the test procedure and repeat the test using a new test panel.

CASSETTE TYPE URINE DRUG TEST

MATERIALS REQUIRED BUT NOT PROVIDED 1. Clock or timer. 2. Specimen collection container.

1. Bring the foil test pouch to room temperature (15°-28°C) before opening it.

2. Remove the test device from the sealed foil pouch, place on a clean dry surface and use it as soon as possible.

3. Avoid cross contamination of urine samples by using a new urine specimen container and dropper for each urine sample.

4. Specimen should be at room temperature (15°-28°C)

5. Hold the sample dropper above the test device. Squeeze 2 drops of specimen into the sample well

6. Place the test kit card on a non-absorbent flat surface, start the timer (not included).

7. As the test begins to activate, a purple band will appear on the left side of the result window, this shows that the Control line is working properly

8. The right side of the result window indicates the result of test

9. The results should be read at between 3 - 5 minutes.

10. To avoid confusion, discard the test device after interpreting the result.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
1. For in vitro diagnostic and professional use only.
2. Avoid cross contamination of urine samples by using a new urine specimen collection container and dropper for each urine sample
3. Urine specimens may be infectious; properly handle and dispose of all used reaction devices in a biohazard container.
4.. Visually inspect the foil package to insure it is intact. If the package is not intact, the integrity of the device might be compromised.
5. Do not use the test device beyond the expiration date.

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

Negative: Two purple bands appear. Two bands appearing in the result window indicates a negative test result. This negative result indicates that the drug concentration is below the detection level.

Positive: One purple band appearing in the result window indicates a positive result. This positive result indicates that the drug concentration is above the detectable level for that specific drug.

SALIVA DRUG TESTS

MATERIALS REQUIRED BUT NOT PROVIDED 1. Clock or timer.

1. Bring the test pouch to room temperature (15°-28°C) before opening it.

2. Do not break the seal of the pouch until ready to conduct the test

3. Saliva that has been compromised could give a false result. Make sure that there is nothing in the individual’s mouth for at least 5 minutes prior to administering test.

4. Remove saliva collection device from pouch. Make sure NOT TO contaminate the device

5. Place foam end of swab into patient’s mouth:

a) Gently move swab around the mouth for approximately 2 minutes to obtain sufficient quantity of saliva to saturate the foam tip

b) Have the individual pucker their mouth to obtain enough saliva

6. Remove swab out of patient’s mouth and place it inside plastic tube.

7. Squeeze plastic tube (with swab inside) and release four (4) drops of saliva onto the sample well of the testing device

8. Read results at 10 minute mark using the test reader

9. As a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region, this indicates that a proper amount of specimen has been collected and membrane wicking has occurred.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

1. For in vitro diagnostic and forensic use only.

2. The saliva collection system is a one-time-use only.

3. Do not use the test device beyond the date of expiration.

4. Saliva specimens may be infectious, Proper handling and disposing of all used testing devices is warranted

5. Visually inspect the foil package to insure it is intact. If the package is not intact, the integrity of the device might be compromised. Do not use the device

6. Do NOT spit directly onto the testing device; swab must be used to collect sample for the test to function correctly

7. Make sure that a sufficient amount of saliva four (4) drops was placed onto collection device.
